128 words
Woodlot production can reduce deforestation and the rate of climate change. Additionally, it can reduce poverty and provide an alternative source of income for farmers. The objective of the study was to assess the impact of woodlot production on the income of farmers. The study was conducted in the Ashanti, Bono-East and Western regions of Ghana. The sample size for the study was 386 respondents. The propensity score matching was used to measure the impact of woodlot production on the income of farmers. From the findings, those who are into woodlot production make GHS 586.917 less than those who are not into woodlot production. Hence, woodlot producers should be sup-ported financially to motivate investors to venture into woodlot production.
